The TM2023 cultural program for April includes an art, technology, and analogue history festival, road performances in a truck, conferences with renowned personalities, planting sessions, concerts, dance workshops, exhibitions, guided tours, book launches, and more.

Over 50 artists from Austria, Croatia, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, and Spain will participate in photography, film, sound experiments, and objects at the 11th edition of the International Analog Mania Festival. For a month (April 1-30), there will be exhibitions, concert screenings, workshops, performances, and debates in a grand celebration of the analog revival. The public is invited to visit the Analog Mania art exhibitions, explore the Hidden Museum, and participate in the Analog Experience in the labyrinthine spaces that extend from the Youth House to the Student Cultural House.

Among the most anticipated events of April is the moving theater show Cargo Berlin - Timișoara. The audience is transported for two hours in a modified trailer. The route includes stops at key points such as cargo handling ramps, warehouses, checkpoints, etc. The truck drivers' biographies will be shared with the audience during the journey. The show is a co-production between Rimini Protokoll and Basca Theater and will be performed several times between March 31 and May 27. Tickets can be purchased from iabilet.ro.

The conference series La UVT, Cultura este Capitală will bring two Nobel Prize laureates and renowned intellectuals from the fields of exact and human sciences to Timișoara:

From April 8-9, the CODRU Festival team organizes planting sessions in the Două Dealuri area, Recaș. For two days, from 10:00 to 18:00, participants will carry out planting actions hourly in groups of up to 50 people. The organizers provide the necessary tools. A relaxation area will also be set up, where those involved in the planting process will enjoy live music and DJ, food & drinks until 20:00. Participation is free and based on completing a form by accessing the official website codrufestival.ro

On the occasion of the completion of the exhibitions "Chronic Desire- Sete Cronică" by Mihaela Cîmpeanu and Sead Kazanxhiu and the RomaMoMA Library exhibition at the Maria Tereza Bastion, two traditional Romani music concerts will be held, celebrating diversity, unity, and the power of music to bring people together:

On April 24, a concert lesson - Baroque Watermusic, will take place at the Faculty of Music and Theater, where period instruments, specific interpretation techniques, and old music repertoire will be presented. The instruments featured in this project include the lute, theorbo, viola da gamba, Baroque flute, Baroque violins, and harpsichord.

On April 26, at Minitremu, the Identity.Education Association highlights the history and culture of feminine* individuals attracted to women, aiming to open a dialogue within the LGBTQIA+ community and beyond. The premiere of a book by Alex Zorilă will take place during this event.

The exhibition openings in celebration of the official TM2023 Opening continue this month: Made up histories have long lives (February 17 - April 16), Mircea Nicolae - Small Things, Precious Things (February 17 - April 23), Tu ești alt eu - O catedrală a corpului (You are another me - A Cathedral of the Body) (February 17 - April 30), Ritzi Jacobi & Peter Jacobi. Texturi ale memoriei. Cinci decenii de creație (Ritzi Jacobi & Peter Jacobi. Textures of Memory. Five Decades of Creation) (February 17 - May 5), Victor Brauner: Invenții și magie (Victor Brauner: Inventions and Magic) (February 17 - May 28), Minitremu 10+ (February 17 - December 4). The central collective exhibition Chronic Desire- Sete Cronică (February 17 - April 23) can be visited in various locations throughout the city: Maria Theresia Bastion, Timișoara Garrison Command, Corneliu Miklosi Public Transport Museum, Ștefania Palace, and General Praporgescu Street. The architectural installation Nursery - 1306 Plants for Timișoara will remain open until December 23, 2023.

Until April 2, you still have the opportunity to visit Timpuri Noi: Xenogeneze ale SF-ului și Bright Cityscapes: Oglindirea ecosistemului (New Temporalities: Xenogenesis of SF and Bright Cityscapes: Mirroring the Ecosystem).

Among the new exhibitions appearing in the city are: „Proiect fotografic nomad” (The "Nomadic Photographic Project") Exhibition (March 27, 2023 - April 27, 2023) at the Botanical Park and Extr-Activism. Decolonizarea mineritului spațial (Extr-Activism: Decolonizing Space Mining) (April 12, 2023 - June 24, 2023) at INDECIS Artist Run Space.

Until April 23, you can participate in one of the guided tours within the Chronic Desire - Sete Cronică exhibition, dedicated to various audience categories, such as schools (adapted to different age groups), families and children, and companies. The exhibition also features translations in Romanian, English, Hungarian, German, Romani, Serbian, Ukrainian, and Romanian Sign Language, in addition to the ones mentioned earlier. The mediation program associated with the Victor Brauner: Invenții și magie (Victor Brauner: Inventions and Magic) exhibition continues until April 26. This includes guided tours, workshops for children, a weekend program for families, school visits, and other activities designed to introduce and explain Brauner's life and work to different audience categories.
