We’re supporting Kaunas - Cultural Capital of Europe 2022 in the open call process for various cultural projects that are about to take place. People are invited to partake as collaborators in the cultural program of 2022 through a series of events, following terms and conditions which we will further analyze. Fluxus Festival, September 10th, 2022
Fluxus Labs! has been creating, developing, inviting communities across the city since 2017.
The Final Event – Fluxus Festival - will connect all of them into one solid live performance on Parodos Hill and perform for 10,000 expected festival guests. Delegates from around the world are invited to the carnival and celebrations: bring your own or let’s create crazy costumes together inspired by the Fluxus movement. Come and celebrate togetherness and self expression!

Let’s Celebrate the River!, May 21st, 2022
Different communities of Kaunas are invited to go kayaking, canoeing, rafting, etc. and at the
same time to create a cultural program on the river or their banks (singing, dancing, organizing workshops, or otherwise presenting themselves). The swim will take place on the Nemunas and Neris (2 biggest lithuanian rivers) and the final highlight will be a meeting in Kaunas Santaka.
Become a participant in swimming (we will take care of water transport) and present your cultural program during the event! If you have experience in producing unique water transport (rafts, etc.), we would be happy if you would share this experience with Kaunas communities.

Courtyard Festival, May 20th, 2022
The Courtyard Festival is a tradition. Let‘s sit by the longest table! During the Festival communities, organizations, and neighbours bring their chairs and tables to the city center and set them with white tablecloths and flowers. The longest of these tables, a line stretching from the Kaunas “Soboras” (St. Michael) Church all the way down to City Hall Square in Old Town (2 kilometres), symbolizes the friendship and unity of the city’s people and neighbours. The event is also marked by music played in the most unexpected places, as well as different creative installations and performances, some of which are created by you – the people and guests of this city. Kaunas 2022 Summer Stage – The Contemporary Stage, May-September, 2022
The general direction of the summer stage program is contemporary culture. We care about relevant, fresh, modern, trendy bands (more interesting inclusive contemporary content, less rock and hiphop). Bands that perform at summer festivals (have an open air program).
We offer:
● fee up to 1000 Eur (depending on the project); accommodation for the band; local production costs; communication costs, local transport.
● The partner institution would be kindly asked to cover the expenses of travel and an extra fee for the participant (if it’s bigger than 1000 Eur).

Video installations in public spaces (Audra Festival), June 29th-July 3rd, 2022
A youth festival created by the city's gen Z, “Audra” focuses on 4 main topics - identity,
psychological well-being, sustainability and nonverbal communication.
- Video artists welcome! We are looking for short-films or creative videos which would talk about the before-mentioned topics and could be screened in a public space of Kaunas.
We are covering: all needed technical production at the main square of Kaunas (Rotušės aikštė).
- Designers for the “Komoda” fashion show wanted!
Requirements are: sustainability - the use of good quality, eco-friendly fabrics, the designs themselves should be able to be worn for more than one occasion; a clear or semi-clear vision of the brand and what audience they address to (age, lifestyle); up to 10 models.
Our commitments: accommodation for up to 5 persons, local production costs, local transport, local models and their representation (hair and make-up), symbolic fee.

VI. Culture to the Courtyards, April-May 2022
11 weeks, 11 Kaunas city elderships – 70 performances.
Professional cultural performances will take place in the courtyards of Kaunas city apartment
buildings, intended for the residents of courtyards. During each performance, spectators will
be encouraged to dress up for the occasion and get ready for performances by the big
screens – windows of their rooms, balconies or comfortably in their courtyards.
Looking for: professionals of various arts including: theater, dance, contemporary circus, music, photography, cinema are invited to submit applications and spread a palette of cultural genres in the courtyards.
We will offer: local production, accommodation and symbolic fee.

VII. The Contemporary Myth of Kaunas Trilogy: The Confluence, May 20th-22nd, 2022
Consisting of hundreds of events and a main show on the river Nemunas, the event will gather
a broad international guest list. Join our food and craft market!

presentation.

VIII. 10th International Choir Festival “Kaunas Cantat” - June 9th-12th, 2022
Kaunas Cantat is one of the several choral projects managed by Lithuania Cantat, a Kaunas-based non-profit organisation. Aimed at amateur choirs, Kaunas Cantat offers an opportunity to compete for prizes and give concerts in the most beautiful locations of Kaunas and Kaunas District. This time, the Festival will join the Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022 program.
