Ceau, Cinema Festival! celebrates its 10th edition in a special moment - Timisoara is the European Capital of Culture. That is why, this year, the festival will celebrate the diversity and beauty of European cinema from all over the continent.
The 10th edition will include two warm-up events that will start at the end of June: a retrospective of three films dedicated to a great Hungarian filmmaker and the opening of an anniversary exhibition.
The festival will open on July 12th with a cineconcert - the screening of a masterpiece of Norwegian silent cinema, accompanied by a soundtrack created and performed live by a musician from Timisoara.
The program will include several sections: the Competition (dedicated to films directed by filmmakers from countries with traditional minorities in Banat), Focus Norway (a selection of Norwegian films premiered in Timisoara, with the participation of Norwegian filmmakers), Focus Spain (four successful and recently launched Spanish films, screened in Piaţa Traian), a section dedicated to documentaries (Doc-minică), Special Screenings, Films from Banat, Ceau, Junior! (films and workshop for children), a screenwriting workshop, a masterclass, discussion panels with foreign and Romanian guests.
The project is part of the national cultural program "Timișoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is financed by the European Echoes program, run by the Project Center of the Municipality of Timișoara, with amounts allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
