City of Lights (Orașul luminilor) is an international project that has been developed in other European cities: Warsaw (Poland), Kraguevac (Serbia), with the aim of creating a city made from recycled objects with the stories and visions of its inhabitants. Director David Zuazola (Spain), who is the creator of the artistic concept, says about his project: “City of Lights aims to bring cities closer and make us known to each other in a different way, to learn how we are, but also to learn and understand how others are.” The show is a tribute to the city of Timișoara, through which the puppeteers - from the stage adaptation of the city’s stories to the execution of the set and the non-verbal interpretation of the stories selected by David Zuazola - wish to share with the world the idea that the history of a city is made, above all, by the people who lived there, those who live there, and those who will live there. In this format, “The City” transforms into a puppet and object show seen from a dramatic perspective, from which we can learn many interesting things about Timișoara throughout its history.
