Interconnected Realms invites the public on a journey to explore our relationship with the world around us, delving into physical, perceptual, and spiritual dimensions. This exhibition showcases the work of three Romanian artists, Livia MateiaÈ™, Sabina Suru, and 13m10j, who utilize new media to examine the interconnectedness of self and environment.

Livia MateiaÈ™'s work, Inner Flow, creates a mesmerizing space that reflects the constant flux of matter. Utilizing a fluid-like environment, Livia evokes the macrocosm and microcosm in a continuous transformation, fostering a sense of cosmic calm and prompting introspection. This work emphasizes the invisible forces that bind us to the universe, reminding us of our place within a larger ecological system.

Sabina Suru's Blue Room, explores the multifaceted nature of time. By manipulating digital footage through an analog cyanotype process, the artist deconstructs and rebuilds the original video, creating a visual dialogue between objective and subjective time. This playful manipulation reflects the way we experience time differently based on our perceptions and emotions. Through this fragmented narrative, Sabina encourages us to consider how our internal rhythms shape our experience of the world.

13m10j's video, SenzSkin, takes a scientific approach to understanding the intimate connection between our bodies and the environment. Relying on scientific research processes, 13m10j translates the invisible process of sweat production into a digital landscape. This work offers a new perspective on the human body, revealing a bio-chemical interface constantly interacting with the world around us. By visualizing this unseen exchange, the artist emphasizes the delicate balance of our internal environment and external stimuli.

Interconnected Realms underscores the interconnectedness of human experience and our surroundings. Through these innovative new media works, the artists reveal hidden dimensions of perception, highlight the body's role in environmental exchange, and offer a glimpse of the invisible forces that bind us to the universe.

This exhibition invites you to:

Reflect on the complex relationship between self and environment.

The artworks challenge us to move beyond a simplistic view of ourselves as separate entities and consider the ways in which we are constantly shaped by and interacting with the world around us. Livia MateiaÈ™'s immersive environment evokes a sense of being part of a larger whole, while 13m10j's scientific visualization reveals the intricate bio-chemical dance between our bodies and the external world.

Explore the possibilities of new media in questioning our perceptions.

The artists deploy innovative techniques to challenge our assumptions about how we experience the world. Sabina Suru's manipulation of time through the cyanotype process disrupts our sense of linear temporality, while Livia MateiaÈ™'s use of video creates an otherworldly space that prompts us to question the boundaries between the real and the imagined.

Consider the invisible forces that shape our experience of the world.

The artworks go beyond the surface of our physical reality to reveal the unseen forces that influence us. 13m10j's visualization of sweat production makes visible a crucial physiological process, while Livia MateiaÈ™'s work hints at the cosmic forces that govern us and the universe. By drawing attention to these hidden dimensions, the artists encourage us to develop a more nuanced understanding of our place in the world.

Discover the intricate relationships between the physical, perceptual, and spiritual.

The exhibition explores the interconnectedness of these different aspects of human experience. The digital environments created by the artists can evoke emotional and spiritual responses, while the exploration of perception highlights the subjective nature of our experience of the world. By blurring the boundaries between these realms, Interconnected Realms invites us to consider the holistic nature of being human.

We encourage you to engage with the artworks on a personal level, allowing them to spark introspection and inspire a deeper understanding of our place within the world.

Fluid 2.0 speaks about flow, diversity and collaboration. It’s an experiential journey from public space to connecting with new media art. Starting from the Uzinei Park, a familiar place known in the community as the Fairytale Bridge, we’ll engage people in discovering a route along the Bega River, leading them to the DIGITAL:CANVAS\ platform. Here, they have the opportunity to experience digital art and learn about the various ways artists use technology.
