Heroes’ March

The Heroes’ March takes place annually and is dedicated to those who died for freedom in the Revolution of December 1989, starting from Maria Square in Timișoara and ending at the Heroes’ Cemetery. The event encourages unity and respect among the residents of Timișoara and is not just a symbolic route but a solemn act full of significance, reminding participants that each step is a gesture of gratitude to those who sacrificed everything for our freedom. The route includes stops at significant places such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Romanian Opera, the Memorial of the Revolution, and the Heroes’ Cemetery. The entire route takes about two and a half hours to complete.
