JAMzz x Aethernativ - ZAG ERLAT & SHAQDI

We prepared for you a series of JAMzz nights. Take this as a warm-up for JAZZx 2023. Let's recharge our batteries with good vibes and lots of jazz energy. We JAZZ together!

ZAG ERLAT (London, UK)
The beginning of it all traces back to late 2007 when Zag made the decision to showcase his collection of Turkish records from the '70s, a golden era for Turkish psychedelic rock music. It was during this time that he noticed the absence of any vinyl sets specifically dedicated to this genre on YouTube. Zag discovered a newfound passion and an insatiable desire to produce additional episodes exclusively featuring vinyl records.

SHAQDI (London, UK)
Soul, RnB - Producer/Songwriter/Singer- Shaqdi is using her Palestinian father's name as a pseudonym, utilizing it as her artistic identity. She began her musical journey at a young age, mastering the piano and violin by the age of four. Raised in a small town in Sweden, she later relocated to Stockholm after completing high school, where she pursued a degree in Kulturama.

*MAJ (a.k.a. My Analog Journal) is a YouTube channel that curates vinyl-only mixes on a weekly basis. Every mix focuses on a certain genre, country, or region, era, or simply an idea or a theme. It all started with Zag Erlat in late 2017. He found his new passion and desire to create more vinyl-only episodes and share the music he loves with the people of the internet, which eventually turned into an online community.

*Jazz re:freshed is created by Justin McKenzie & Adam Moses as a music movement that started with a humble vision in the early summer of 2003. The movement was built around its weekly live residency in the heart of West London, covering the whole spectrum of jazz and jazz-influenced. Everything that’s fresh about jazz is hopefully reflected in the philosophy and delivery of Jazz re:freshed and its numerous projects – the colour, the creativity, the artistry, the boundless expression.

JAMzz is a project funded by the Timișoara National Cultural Program - European Capital of Culture in 2023.
