The project New dishes proposes a return in time through traditional dishes, through a contemporary reinterpretation of authentic recipes. By bringing local culinary culture to the contemporary world, the project aims to revitalize local communities, while at the same time saving an important component of cultural identity and collective memory.

Noemi Hügel and Ioan Bebeșelea (Noemi&Bebe) are two chefs passionate about local gastronomy and products. For the Moving Fireplaces Festival, they explored regions of Banat in search for ultra-local recipes, the stories of their migrations and of the people that still keep them. At the end of their research, Noemi and Bebe will prepare a lunch inspired by the recipes they gathered, aiming to highlight their transgenerational and regional value. We always tell our stories at the lunch table and this one will tell the story of Banat.

The lunch takes place on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 2:00 PM, in an unconventional place: the train station in Jimbolia. Before that, from 12:30 PM., those who want to learn more about the history of Jimbolia have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour.

Participation in the event requires registration. The registration form will be opened on September 15. A minimum participation fee of 10 lei/person is mandatory, as a donation to the "Sever Bocu" Press Museum in Jimbolia, a partner of the event.
