The performance "Survival Rules" is an autobiographical story about the journey of finding "home." The character is a non-binary Roma person with feminist values, femme-presenting, who explores various forms of family, from biological to chosen.
The performance also addresses themes such as mental health, an important topic for the community, and describes the difficulties encountered in the search process, and how, ultimately, the community and their partners (re)construct another home.
"Survival Rules" even takes the form of a guide, with the main character offering advice from their own experience on how to find your place in a homophobic, racist, and sexist world.
