Re-Garde (contemporary dance performance) | DINAM, 4th edition

Re-Garde is a choreographic work for two dancers, exploring the gaze, the meanings it carries, and the impact it generates. Whether insignificant or full of meaning, the gaze of another shapes the image of the world and the self. The performance examines the gaze of the other as a limitation of freedom, as a form of judgment. It translates the act of looking into something that becomes unhealthy and intrusive—the feeling of being spied on, of being watched. Re-Garde also explores the gaze as a subtle potential for communication and as an interpretation of reality. Throughout the performance, the two dancers, alternately observed, manipulated, and complicit, play with these facets of the gaze and perception.
