Special Guided Tour in the presence of curators Diana Marincu & Kilobase Bucharest within Ioana Nemeș’s “Rituals, Keepers and Storms” Exhibition.

It gives us great pleasure to invite you to a series of special events organized by the Art Encounters Foundation on the occasion of the great closing weekend of the European Capital of Culture - Timisoara 2023. As part of this significant city event, Art Encounters proposes a special program built around the exhibition of one of the most important contemporary artists of her generation, Ioana Nemeș, entitled "Rituals, Keepers and Storms," curated by Diana Marincu and Kilobase Bucharest.

→ Therefore, 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟗, 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟏𝟓:𝟎𝟎, at the Art Encounters Foundation we invite you at a special tour by Diana Marincu & Kilobase Bucharest, curators of the Ioana Nemeș "Rituals, Keepers and Storms" exhibition.

The exhibition "Rituals, Keepers and Storms" represents a necessary gesture of reassessment and documentary research of the body of works "Relics for the Afterfuture (Brown)," created between 2009-2010 by the late artist Ioana Nemeș (1979-2011). This cutout from the remarkable creation of the artist, who left us far too soon, restores one of the major thematic directions of her creative laboratory and represents the early nucleus of a larger project that the present exhibition foreshadows.

The project is part of the national cultural program "Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is financed through the European Echoes program, run by the Center for Projects of the Municipality of Timișoara, with amounts allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
