Timisoara Jazz Festival | Nills Petter Molvaer / Airelle Besson

Nils Petter Molvær is a renowned Norwegian musician, particularly known for his contributions to the genres of ambient, jazz, and electronic music. He was born on September 18, 1960, in the town of Sula, Norway, and has become one of the leading figures in the Norwegian and international music scenes. Nils Petter Molvær's career spans several decades and has been influenced by a variety of musical styles. He is known for his innovative approach to the trumpet, using electronic technology and effects to create unconventional and atmospheric sounds. His music can be described as a captivating blend of jazz, ambient, experimental, and electronic music.

His debut album, "Khmer," released in 1997, had a significant impact in the music world, earning recognition both from critics and audiences. Throughout his career, Nils Petter Molvær has released numerous albums, contributing to the evolution of contemporary jazz and its fusion with electronic and ambient elements.

 

The project is part of the national cultural Programme “Timișoara - European Capital of Culture 2023” and is funded through the BEGA programme, carried out by the Cultural and Art Center of Timiș County, with funds allocated from the state budget through the Ministry of Culture.
