TRIAJ intervenes culturally in the Blașcovici area, near Cosmonautilor and Danube streets, on Saturday starting at 5 pm with A UKRAINIAN DAY in continuation of the cultural activation of the North-West area of Timisoara.
In the first part we will have games, songs, workshops for children and tasting of traditional Ukrainian food BORSCHT in partnership with Ukrainian organization FAINA UA. Then follows the screening of the film THE MAN WITH A MOVIE CAMERA, 1929 directed by DZIGA VERTOV, a landmark film in the history of cinema. The soundtrack is composed and performed live during the screening by DUBASE.
A UKRANIAN DAY is part of TRIAJ a cultural ecosystem consisting of exhibition spaces, workshops, conferences, installations, guided tours and cultural interventions in neighbourhoods, grouped around a central event - the reopening in Timisoara of a reinterpreted version of the Holocaust Museum in Odessa, an institution that has not functioned since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
The TRIAJ project is part of the National Cultural Programme "Timisoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is financed by the Grow Timișoara 2023 programme, implemented by by the Centre for Projects of the Municipality of Timișoara, with amounts allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
