Timisoara comes to life and events begin again in the city that continues to live the story of the extraordinary moment that was 2023.

Theatre performances, symphony concerts, exhibitions and more are on the programme for April. The month begins with the operetta performance of Johann Strauss's "The Gypsy Voivode", scheduled for 3 April at 19:00 in the Opera Hall of the Romanian National Opera. It will be followed by the concert of the "Ion Românu" Choir of the Banat Philharmonic on April 4, at the same time, at the Roman Catholic Cathedral.

The 5th edition of BETA - Timișoara Biennial of Architecture is fast approaching, and this year's theme will be chosen during the Loading Beta event, which will take place both in Timișoara and Reșița from 4 to 8 April 2024.

Theatre performances are a must this month, and the show "Katzelmacher. If it weren't for love" will be staged on 4 April at 19:30 at the German State Theatre.

On 5 April, starting at 19:00, in the Capitol Hall of the Banat Philharmonic, there will be a Symphony Orchestra Concert with conductor Austin Chanu and violin soloist Florin Iliescu. On the same day, at 20:00, at Casa Tineretului, there will be a concert by the talented artist Prima Dragoste.

On April 7, from 16:00, there will be a new performance of the theatre show "1978" at Calea Ghirodei 32, and at the German State Theatre, from 19:30, the public will be able to enjoy another performance of the show "SIDY THAL".

The premiere of the performance "Neliniște" will take place on April 8, in the Opera Hall of the Romanian National Opera. Created by Ivan Vîrîpaev and directed by Bobi Pricop, the show highlights themes such as art and artists, creation and creators, offering a fascinating perspective on the relationship between them and how it is perceived from the outside.

On April 11, at 19:00, the public is invited to the performance "Zorba the Greek", which will take place in the Main Hall of the National Theatre "Mihai Eminescu". The next day, on 12 April, at 19:30, the performance of "Lowlands" will take place at the German State Theatre. Continuing the series of performances, on 16 April, at 19:00, the Main Hall of the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre will host the play "Romanian Psycho".

In the Capitol Hall, the Banat Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will perform a new concert on April 19, under the baton of conductor Azis Sadikovic, with clarinet soloist Carlos Ferreira. The next day, on 20 April, at FABER, from 17:00, the series of open-air concerts begins, with the first bands being Implant for Refusal & HVNDS, with Imund as the opener.

The premiere of the ballet "Creations of Prometheus / Bodies & Emotions" will take place on 21 April, starting at 18:00, in the Opera Hall of the Romanian National Opera. This two-act performance, set to the music of Ludwig van Beethoven, is directed and choreographed by Ovidiu Matei Iancu, and the set and costumes are by Dragoș Buhagiar.

Another premiere will take place on 25 April - the play "Victims of Debt", by Eugène Ionesco and directed by Radu Iacoban, can be seen from 19:00 in the Main Hall of the National Theatre "Mihai Eminescu".

On 26 April, the city will be animated by a series of exceptional cultural events. In the Opera Hall, the public will enjoy the opera performance "Turandot" from 19:00. At the same time, in the Capitol Hall of the Banat Philharmonic, the Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert conducted by Radu Popa, with Andrei Ioniță on piano and cello. The same evening, in the Main Hall of the Hungarian State Theatre "Csiki Gergely", the theatre performance "Pericles" will be performed at the same time, 19:00.

The month ends with the performance "Exodus", scheduled for April 28, at 19:00, in the Main Hall of the National Theatre "Mihai Eminescu".

Thus, during this month of spring, Timisoara's citizens and visitors are encouraged to enjoy the beauty and vitality of the cultural events that await them.
