Baroque Watermusic

Between April 2023 and September 2023, the Baroque Watermusic project will take place. This project is part of the Baroque Reloaded route, which is on the updated cultural agenda of the European Capital of Culture 2023. Baroque Watermusic consists of a series of three lesson concerts, held at the Faculty of Music and Theatre in Timisoara, as well as five early music concerts, performed on a baroque boat, which will sail on the Bega between June and September 2023.

During the three lesson concerts, period instruments, their specific interpretation techniques, as well as the repertoire of early music will be presented, and the five concerts on the Bega will present to the audience a unique repertoire of early music, vocal-instrumental, made on period instruments and period costumes. The instruments presented in this project are: lute, viola da gamba, baroque flute, baroque violins, harpsichord. The instrumentalists are professional musicians from Hungary and Romania, along with soprano Narcisa Brumar, from the National Opera Romanian Timisoara, soloist of this institution. The project is coordinated by: Univ. Lecturer Dr. Caius Hera.

This project is part of the national cultural programme "Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in the year 2023" and is funded by the City of Timișoara, through the Center for Projects.
