Bartók Folk Days

The project aims to promote the European values symbolized by Bartók Béla through ethnomusical, creative and gastronomic activities involving multiple categories of citizens from the city of Timișoara and the county of Timiș. The event is organized on October 27-28, 2023 in Timișoara, Iosefin district, at Bartók Béla Theoretical High School and is composed of 4 activities intended for a diverse audience, carried out through a partnership between two NGOs and an educational institution with guests from Hungary: interactive folk dance program coordinator Okányi Mihály and authentic folk music ensemble Suttyomba. The range of activities includes: the opening of a unique exhibition on an alley that includes graphic elements and information via QR codes, creative and gastronomic workshops for children, an interactive program of folk dances related to the traditions related to harvesting of wine grapes, traditional snacks, Bartók mini-concert from his collections of folk songs of different ethnicities and Folk evening for young people and adults. The beneficiaries of the program are the wider community of project partners and their guests.

The project is part of the national cultural program Timișoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023 and is financed by the OverBorder Culture+ program, run by the Center for Culture and Art of Timiș County, with amounts allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture
