Get your hands on the guitar in school – Timișoara is a continuous education program, as a solution for adapting the skills of teachers to the real educational and cultural needs of children.
The program is an educational-cultural approach addressed directly to teachers and music teachers and indirectly to the children of Timișoara, addressing the need for continuous cultural training and personal development.
The content of the activities is not limited to "learning the guitar", but goes towards knowledge of music pedagogy, history and evolution of music, folk and rock. As the most affordable and popular instrument, the guitar is just the starting point. The final goal is to instill in them - through music and activities specific to non-formal education - a set of values and principles such as critical thinking, freedom of thought, freedom of expression, acceptance of diversity.
For nine months, the project develops activities that converge towards the general objective, respectively - the development of a learning platform based on a community capable of designing formal and informal educational tools and implementing models of non-formal musical education programs in schools, replicable and scalable in any context.
This project is part of the national cultural programme "Timișoara European Capital of Culture in the year 2023" and is financed by the Power Station+ program | Creative schools, run by the Center for Projects Timișoara, with amounts allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
