The Architects Who Rebuild Timisoara

Alexandra Tănăsescu visited Timișoara last year, in the context of the European Capital of Culture, meeting people and visiting places, taking part in cultural events, projects. The 1306 Nursery project, carried out by the Romanian Order of Architects - Timișoara Branch, included on the shortlist for the European Union Prize for Architecture, impressed her and, in a wider context, is the theme of the project she is proposing as part of the creative grant Energy! What happened to those plants after the structure was dismantled, how much and what kind of work was behind the project - the Nursery would be one of the stories of the extensive reportage that he proposes within the scholarship.

The central ideas of the report are architecture and the architects' guild, their work in the context of Timișoara 2023, but also in general, the impact of architecture/architectural projects put into practice on everyday life, the relevance of architects in the life of the city.

The extensive report in text format and accompanied by photos will be published on culturaladuba.ro, a publication with a monthly average of 150,000 unique visitors, then amplified on the Cultura la dubă social media pages - Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Linkedin.

The report will involve documentation and interviews, a research of places and spaces relevant to the proposed theme. As for the spaces he wants to capture in the report, one of them is FABER, a success story designed by architects.

This project is part of the national cultural program "Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023" and was funded through Energie! Burse de Creație grant by the City of Timisoara, through the Center for Projects.
