An enchanting adaptation of Romania's most significant folk masterpiece, "Miorița" brings to life a ballad with over a hundred versions, centered on the story of three shepherds. In this adapted version, the victim sheds lamentation, takes a stand, and revolts before her assassination, exploring the theme of the "bride of the world" and the re-incorporation of the body into nature.
The performance will take place on Thursday, October 31, 19:30 in the TRIADE Garden.
This theatrical adaptation extracts the ballad from its poetic and folkloric roots and transposes it to the intersection of two mediums: contemporary music and theatrical masks. Collaborating with black metal artists (Sol Faur, former member of Negură Bunget and current member of Dordeduh), opera percussionists, and actors from Auăleu Theatre Timișoara, this project presents a lesser-known version of the ballad from the Banat region, where tension peaks during the final confrontation.
