HEI is currently hosting an exhibition of Spanish design proposed by the Cervantes Institute in Bucharest. "Diseñadoras. (Re)diseñando el mundo" / "Designer(s). (Re)designing the world" including works by 12 Spanish female designers whose main interest is sustainability, proposing creative models with natural, sustainable or biodegradable materials.

This first creative workshop with Mimi Ciora will explore the technique of 'paper weaving', where strips of paper are woven together to create new artistic structures. This workshop is inspired by the contribution of Spanish-born artist Julia Esqué and her series of works "Woven Paper Studies" part of the group exhibition.

Process:

Each participant will create an initial work (drawing, illustration, painting).

The finished work will be cut into strips using the shader.

The strips will be recombined using the paper weaving technique, together with other materials.

The final result will be a mixed composition.

Through this process, participants will learn to see art from a new perspective, experimenting with the idea of destruction and re-creation to discover new shapes and patterns.
