Following the Art & Science Education workshops, which took place from September 23-28, the 30 participating students created artworks that explored interdisciplinary themes, combining artistic elements with concepts from science, such as geometry, biological structures and natural phenomena. These creations were exhibited alongside artist Dorian Bolca's "Morse" light installation in the main hall of Pesac School, a conceptual piece that translated the Romanian alphabet into Morse code and symbolized the link between knowledge and communication. Through pulsating light sequences, the installation offered an immersive experience accessible to all, reimagining the Romanian alphabet as a universal language.
The curatorial concept of the "Art & Science" exhibition in Pesac was built around the idea of bringing two seemingly distinct fields - art and science - into a dialog and exploring the deep connections between them. We wanted to provide a platform of expression that would attract and stimulate the curiosity of students, teachers and the local community, inviting them to look beyond the conventional boundaries of each discipline. The aim of this exhibition was to reveal how art and science can complement each other, each opening unique ways of interpreting and understanding reality.
From a curatorial perspective, "Art & Science" at Pesac aims to be a reference point for the integration of art in the educational environment, demonstrating that interdisciplinary exploration is essential for the formation of better informed, more open and creative future generations. The exhibition also brings art closer to the community, demonstrating that art is not just a domain of the privileged, but an essential tool for personal and community development. Through this initiative, we aim to open new horizons of knowledge, inspire and encourage the community to value art and science as complementary resources in everyday life.
