The Art & Science Education Program continued on 24-27 October 2024, with a mini-residency of a group of 10 students from the Secondary School "Maria Brindea" from Pesac, held in Timisoara. For several days, these young women were guided on an interdisciplinary adventure by specialists from different fields, scientists and artists.
In collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, the students had the opportunity to explore the laboratories of fluid mechanics, strength of materials and seismic resistance, and visited the UPT Experimentarium, where they participated in various interactive experiments.
The activities included a first aid course given by the Red Cross team, a sound art workshop with Mihai Toth, in which they explored the sounds of the Bega canal, and visits to important cultural sights such as the Art Museum, the Architecture Biennale and the Parallel City project, etc. In addition, the program included a film evening at the Victoria Cinema and a theatre performance at the Merlin Theatre, combining education with creative exploration.
Through the interdisciplinary approach, students had the opportunity to understand that both art and science contribute to the development of flexible and innovative thinking, capable of navigating the complexities of the contemporary world.
