As we promised you, in July we are bringing to Timișoara the Călăuzele Apelor club and the Rowmania! brand canoe construction workshop! The club's initiative recently received the most prestigious continental award for projects related to heritage - European Heritage Awards, awarded by Europa Nostra and the European Commission.
Throughout the month of July, we put Timișoara on a select map of localities united by water, with the support of master carpenter Viorel Gheorghe. Boat building is a forgotten craft that Rowmania wants to bring back to life with the support of enthusiasts. The canotca is a concept of the great Romanian sportsman Ivan Patzaichin, combining the elegance of the competition canoe with the functionality of the fishing boat. Secondary school children will build, together with craftsman Viorel Gheorghe, a canoe that they will then take out on the water, on the Bega!
If you are a high school student and want to join our workshop, all you have to do is fill out the registration form. There are ten available places.
The workshop takes place every day, from Monday to Friday, for approximately 3h30/day, at the new building of Babel School and Highschool (Timișoara, Phoenix str., near Dumbrăvița). No special previous knowledge or skills are required, you just need to have a thirst for knowledge and a desire to do something special!
