Feel The City - Culture for All, Along Bega

The exhibition will take place on the banks of the Bega Canal, at the Riverside Gallery, and it aims to present 3D tactile models of some spaces with a cultural destination located on the Bega Route: the Banat Philharmonic, the Faber building, the Noul Mileniu Reformed Center and the Water Tower in the Iosefin neighborhood.

The models presented in this event are part of the tactile exhibition Feel the City which will open in December 2023 and which is mainly intended for the visually impaired. The exhibition will contain 26 tactile 3D models of the most representative cultural spaces in Timișoara, the tactile maps of the 5 boroughs and the general tactile map of the city, as well as a tactile brochure in book format and a tactile brochure in page format.

The audio information related to the 3D tactile models is delivered through an audio-guide platform with iOS and Android mobile applications, which plays content based on the identification of exhibits through NFC smart tags. The audio recordings are in mp3 format and feature premium quality AI-generated narration in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese, as well as audio content based on recordings in Romanian and Hungarian.

The tactile maps and brochures have access to audio information through QR codes.

The project is part of the national cultural programme "Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is funded through the Grow Timișoara 2023 programme, implemented by the Center for Projects Timișoara, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
