On July 1st, we will open Pride Week with the screening of the film "Stranizza d’amuri" / "Fireworks" at the French Institute in Timișoara. We can't wait to see each other again!
The film is a story of friendship and love between two young men in 1980s Sicily. Inspired by a real case of hate crime, the event triggered the LGBTQIA+ activist movement in Italy during the same period. The screening will be accompanied by a discussion on art and culture as bridges for storytelling, how they can heal a community, and act as tools for social mobilization through informing and raising awareness for other communities or minorities.
The film will be screened with the help of the Italian Cultural Institute.
