I like the morning light the best

Camera Postpartum (The Postpartum Room) used to be many things, simultaneously and one after another. It was a concrete room in an apartment on the 7th floor where I spent quite a long time. It was a solitary space in my head. It was an overlapping space for several rooms, when I decided to invite other mothers, together with the spaces in their head, to see in what ways our spaces could coexist. From 2020 until now, Camera Postpartum took various forms, keeping the aim of being a dialogue frame for things too little discussed.
Camera Postpartum exists now at a slightly distant place from where I sit, not far enough to say I leave it behind, but far enough to watch it from a different angle. In the arc of time that I needed to draw from the present moment to the past in the room on the 7th floor, I stopped in a forest. In the ecosystem of this forest, in which a recurrent dream during postpartum nights was taking place, I came back to in the last six months, trying to understand again why entering maternity is often a negotiation between intimacy and isolation. In my dream, the human presence was always acute. "I like the morning light the best" is an invitation to step into this dream, to meet with fragments of my process and to take the dialogue further.
