On the occasion of Timisoara 2023 European Capital of Culture, the Politehnica University of Timisoara, in partnership with the Romanian Embassy in Oslo, the Timisoara 2023 European Capital of Culture Association and the National Museum of Banat, invites you to the French Cultural Institute in Oslo (Holtegata 29, Oslo) on 1st September 2023, from 15:00 to 19:00, to find out the latest news about the most important cultural programme of 2023 in Romania, within the project of "Spotlight Heritage Timisoara - European Capital of Culture 2023. International Festival of Digital Culture and Heritage - XR Demonstrations".
The festival will feature an interactive installation, visible through virtual and mixed reality goggles, a concept of the Politehnica University of Timisoara, which will allow the participants to make a "little tour" through the history of the old districts of Timisoara, with the help of augmented and virtual reality technologies, and to listen to the stories of the multicultural and multiethnic history of the city.
Starting with a panoramic view of the city, you will be taken through the history of 5 historical districts, revealed through 3D videos and 3D scans of the museum's heritage, you will be able to visit the iconic buildings in 360 with VR glasses and you will be able to map the path of the "Heritage under the Spotlight" project, guided by virtual reality technology.
