META FORUM - Shifting Realities
October 18-19, 2024
MV sci-art center, Bd. Mihai Viteazul 1
Keynote speakers: Mihaela Ghiță, Mihai Toth, Mirela Stoac-Vlăduți, Dragos Dogioiu and Gabriela Mateescu
META FORUM - Shifting Realities, now in its second edition, brings together researchers, artists and curators to investigate the connections between art, science and technology, identifying both the challenges and opportunities at the intersection of these fields. In a social and cultural context marked by a redefinition of the boundaries between perceived and constructed realities, be they physical or virtual, it becomes essential to reassess how new technologies influence both artistic practice and scientific research. The ability to navigate between different realities is generating new forms of interaction, redefining inter-human relations, questioning notions of identity, authenticity and space.
META FORUM redefines the role of artistic experimentation in the context of synergies between art and science, but also reaffirms the need for interdisciplinarity and the fluidization of boundaries between professions and fields. Digital environments not only expand the possibilities for artistic expression, but also significantly influence the way art is perceived and consumed. Within this framework, art becomes a tool for exploring and reflecting on new emerging realities, contributing to the understanding of cultural and social transformations. META FORUM aims to highlight these dynamics and to provide a space for dialog to deepen the impact of technology on artistic creation and on the way we perceive the surrounding world.
