One of the first hip-hop bands in Romania, R.A.C.L.A. was founded in 1993 by brothers Călin and Daniel Ionescu (initially known as Krash-X and Big Demo, and later as Rimaru and Clonatu'). In this formula, R.A.C.L.A released the first hip-hop album in Romania in 1995, entitled Rap-Sodia efectului defectului (Rap-Sody of the Effect of the Defect). In the same line-up they also released the album Cei care te calcă pe cap (Those Who Walk All Over You) (1997), containing the song Anarchy, together with Cargo. In 1998, Clonatu' gave up his musical career. Starting with Rimedebine (1998) Rimaru continues the R.A.C.L.A. project, releasing the single (Don’t forget me (1999) with Anda Adam, the album (Plus Infinity) (2000) with K-gula and DJ Dox, and (The Red Square) (2001) with K-gula.
The album (Dexterity), in the formula Rimaru & Connect-R, was released in 2006, featuring the hit 2 in 1 with Dee. After a break of a few years, Rimaru returns with the single Ține-te de ea (Hold on to Her) (2014), then in 2015 the hit Nu te-am uitat (I Didn’t Forget You) with Anda Adam, as a continuation of the story in Nu mă uita (Don’t forget me). In 2016, R.A.C.L.A. releases a new album, Raport Major (Major Report), and in 2017 the band begins the collaboration with Scânteie, from the band Ad Litteram, a first result being the track Infam (Infamous) together with J.Yolo.
