Timișoara: Free City, Free Spirit | Rome

The primary purpose of the event is to inform the cultural community in Rome about the details of the Timisoara 2023 - European Capital of Culture program, to connect Romanian artists with the cultural networks in Rome, facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences, and to provide Italian journalists with the necessary information to promote the Timișoara 2023 Program to the Italian public.

The exhibition will include over 30 works from the artists' collections, such as wood paintings and oil on canvas of various sizes.

Doru and Eleonora Tulcan are two of the most titled and acclaimed visual artists of the last decades in Timișoara, who have stood out since the '70s-'80s, years of artistic enthusiasm as a form of resistance to the communist regime.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Union of Visual Artists from Timiș, The Faculty of Arts and Design - West University of Timisoara and with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute through its representation, Accademia di Romania in Rome, under the patronage of the Romanian Embassy in Italy.

The event occurs within the priority cultural program Communication of the Timișoara - European Capital of Culture 2023 Program, financed by the Ministry of Culture.
