Viitor Anterior / Future Perfect with Răzvan Anton and Mihai Iepure-Górski

Răzvan Anton and Mihai Iepure-Górski, co-curators of the entire program Art me. Reintroduction in artistic education, presents the series of exhibitions Viitor Anterior/Future Perfect, from the perspective of local attempts to give meaning to an intergenerational contact between art practitioners. In continuation of the presentation will take place:

  • Debate: Art Pedagogy vs Art Orientation Pedagogy, a discussion initiated by Thierry de Duve's observations on the end of the Bauhaus model (see below), focused beyond the schematization of Art Education in Non-Art Schools
  • Dear Manualule (Pocket Companion) - session of drafts of an editorial content that answers the pedagogical dilemmas related to the materials necessary for artistic education.

"Although the Bauhaus model is, by all accounts, fragile, it remains the norm of most artistic schools, even if - and especially if - it becomes distorted beyond recognition. Because this is exactly the moment when his own errors combine with the fact that he has to work with some postulates in which man does not believe.

Who wouldn't smile ironically today when hearing the word "creativity"? Who would dispute, following the teachings of Warhol or Toroni, that in our century art is born as much from imitation as from invention? I would end the list here. In the field of art, the majority of pedagogues, whether they are artists or theorists, teach the criticism of the Bauhaus model in those institutions that keep this model alive, without there being an alternative to it. This nihilism can be anything, but not a solution.

Moreover, I hold him responsible for the acceleration of the decline of this model, which becomes evident with the emergence of the new generation of artists who, in order to succeed, apply a perfectly conscious critical strategy against artistic institutions.

Among the artistic schools that I know - and I have seen many of them - the most "progressive" are those that organized against the Bauhaus model, to subvert it. The products of these schools - for they really produce artists - are people who affirm the irony of creativity without presenting an indisputable sign of talent. They have gone so far in refusing the environment and manufacture that their only technique is the appropriation of the ready-made . They are the ones who, with the help of simulation, managed to refuse both imitation and invention."
