The project entitled Permanent Exhibition - Székely László and Bolyai János is implemented by Diaspora Foundation in partnership with Bastion Varbastya Association from Timișoara. Within the project an exhibition space is created, which is intended to become a permanent exhibition. The location in the centre of Timișoara is in a building designed by the former chief architect of the city Szekely Laszlo. The exhibition will promote two Hungarian personalities: Székely László himself and the mathematician Bolyai János.
From autumn 2024, the exhibition will be open to the public on a permanent basis.
The memory of the two personalities was revitalised during the cultural programmes in 2023, and with this project we want to create a permanent space for the celebration of the two scholars.
The results of the project are not only the exhibition, we will also elaborate a Szekely Laszlo album and a colouring book for the younger generation, with the stencils of the buildings, which will be brought to life by the imagination of the youngsters.
The project is part of the national cultural program "Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is funded through the Legacy Timișoara 2023 program, carried out by the Project Center of the Municipality of Timișoara, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the Ministry of Culture's budget.
