Moving Fireplaces - The Legacy is an experiment and an analysis of the potential of the legacy of the Moving Fireplaces project and the beneficial effects generated by Timișoara 2023 - European Capital of Culture. The project involves the continuation and development of some of the most relevant products and artistic expressions developed between 2022 and 2023. From performances inspired by the podcast UZDINUZ by Christine Cizmaș, a new edition of the Moving Fireplaces Festival, the Why Culture Matters International Symposium or the I Started to See the Colours naïve art exhibition - these will be brought back to the attention of the public, through various cultural interventions and activations of the public space in the historic districts of Timișoara. The project also acts as an ambassador of Timișoara 2023 at the national and regional level, including a series of promotional events or artistic research that not only emphasize local and European cultural diversity, the beneficial effects of the European Capital of Culture title, but also strengthen existing partnerships and facilitate dialogue with new communities.
The project is part of the national cultural program "Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is funded through the Legacy Timișoara 2023 program, carried out by the Project Center of the Municipality of Timișoara, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the Ministry of Culture's budget.
