What do you need to create a game? What do you need to create a game in public space? For 3 days, 3 games from the Public Games Library will be drawn with chalk in 3 public spaces in Timisoara.
The tools of the game are chalk objects, objects that take shape as a result of the game, traces of the performative installations that will occupy the city. With their help we will install 3 games in 3 areas of Timisoara, between blocks, in public spaces, near parks or parking lots.

If you're hiking around Timișoara, you might come across a game from the Public Games Library between 26-28 October 2023. If you can't find it, no problem. Go to www.institutuljocului.ro and follow the instructions to install a game from the Library yourself.

The 3 games have been installed in the Circumvalațiunii district, Calea Martirilor area and near the Bega river.
Once the game is drawn you have limited time to come and play. The game-installations are ephemeral, made with chalk, but the drawing shapes, the game tools remain in the space and you can come to complete, modify the rules, create your own game.

Game Tools and the Library for Public Games are part of the Play Institute, a space for research and creation of active games. The locations were identified on site and with the help of BETA and the Timișoara Order of Architects.
