Throughout her artistic career, Dona Arnakis has explored different techniques (charcoal, acrylic, pencil, fiberglass, textiles, ceramics, etc.) in both group and solo exhibitions. As part of the Energie! creative scholarship, Dona Arnakis will explore the artistic area in collaboration with another artistic field, that of publishing, namely poetry. A new approach that connects to her interest in other artistic forms of expression and exploration of the world. As part of the scholarship, he will organize workshops for the elderly and children. The intention is for these groups to interact through writing and drawing.

"Its idea is to create a playful setting and a rapprochement between the two ages. I want to encourage other independent artists to step out of their comfort zone and explore other artistic forms in fields other than the classical ones, such as exhibitions, to address an audience other than the usual, art-consuming one."

Dona Arnakis will collaborate with a debutante poet - Cristina Băldău. The project will materialize through a whole creative process for the production of the poetry book, the organization of the workshops, the melange between the text and the book illustration that will be made by Dona Arknais.

"The possibility of creating illustrations for poems is a new challenge for me and also a need to encourage the involvement of art in as many fields and different social groups as possible. The impact I estimate on my professional activity would be twofold. On the one hand, it strengthens my artistic portfolio and demonstrates my skills in book illustration as well. On the other hand, it opens up new opportunities in the field of publishing and digital illustration. This scholarship will contribute to my development and affirmation as an artist, giving me the resources to follow my passion and share my work with the world with a debut book of poems that demonstrates a different artistic connection.”

This project is part of the national cultural program "Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023" and was funded through Energie! Burse de Creație grant by the City of Timisoara, through the Center for Projects.
