š š¦ The changing seasons prompt some to seek shelter while others must find resources for survival in the ecosystems around them. Urban ecosystems are not always friendly to the beings that were here before us.
At Culture Quest, we continue to deepen our understanding of the lives and perspectives of birds. This time, we aim to collaborate to transform the city, or at least a small part of it, into a space that does not expand at the expense of non-human species.
šŖŗšš¦ Together with the SEPALE Sanctuary, we will explore how we can better care for both domestic and wild birds, how to protect their habitats, and what measures we can take when the urban environment becomes hostile. We will build birdhouses, shelters, and nests, just as we would create our own refuge.
If you want to participate and discover what managing a bird sanctuary entails, we have 6 spots available for a Sunday afternoon trip to the SEPALE Sanctuary, near TimiČoara.Ā
The program includes two sessions:
Sunday, October 6
The first session involves a visit to the SEPALE Sanctuary, where we will have the opportunity to meet Silvia Moldovan, who will tell us more about what it means to manage a bird sanctuary and how we can build shelters that do not interfere with their natural habitats. We will understand the challenges birds face in an urban environment and how we can contribute to their protection.
Saturday, October 19
The second session will be practical and consists of the actual construction of artificial nests, which we will then place in the wild meadow of the Bega River.
