European Theatre Festival EUROTHALIA

The German State Theatre Timisoara is organizing the 9th edition of the European Theatre Festival EUROTHALIA, a wide and diverse festival edition as part of the Official Programme Timisoara - European Capital of Culture 2023, from 20-30 September 2023.

EUROTHALIA becomes, on the occasion of its 9th edition, under the motto "Perspectives", a reference filter of the current theatrical manifestation in Europe. With the aim of opening up the perception of different formats of the European performing arts world, the festival brings together theatre, dance, dance theatre, documentary and puppet theatre, nonverbal performances and productions with multimedia and animatronic elements from Germany, Spain, Greece, Belgium, Macedonia, Latvia, Denmark, Bulgaria and Romania.

Eurothalia offers new perspectives on the reception of varied content and theatrical forms that explore universal themes through innovative methods: the search for truth, love, self-identity and its relationship to society, history, man's relationship to nature and to the machines of new technologies, the present and the future.

This year's programme features guest productions by Europe's most vocal theatres and companies, as well as a series of complementary events: thematic workshops, debates, staged readings, training programmes, guided tours and exhibitions for all ages.

Tickets are available at Entertix and from September 5 also at the box office of the German State Theater Timisoara.
