JOE JAZZ JUNKTION is a Timisoara-based project that started in 2014 and is based on the trio formed by Ion Dorobantu - guitar, Victor Miclăuș - bass, Ferencz Szekeres - drums. The collaboration with vocalist Maria Chiorean and saxophonist Lucian Nagy expands the framework of expression and the orchestral variations of the pieces.
The group proposes an original repertoire containing mainly compositions in a chamber jazz manner by guitarist Ion Dorobantu, in an eclectic conglomerate of styles and modern sounds that explores mainly contrapuntal spaces, with a contemporary harmonic development, on compact and propulsive convergent rhythms.

The project is part of the national cultural programme "Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is funded through the Grow Timișoara 2023 programme, implemented by the Center for Projects Timișoara, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
