"Shelter for Us" by Ana Cătălina Gubandru

Bega Riverbank / Splaiul Nicolae Titulescu (near the Water Tower) and Splaiul Peneș Curcanul (across from FABER)

"Shelter for Us" is a profound and minimalist artistic installation that explores the symbol of nomadism and the universal need for shelter. Made from branches, in the shape of a tent, this installation will be placed in two iconic locations along the Begăi riverbank, in the historic neighborhoods of Iosefin and Fabric.

Through "Shelter for Us," Ana Cătălina Gubandru creates a strong contrast between imposing, durable architecture and the fragility of a temporary, natural shelter. The tent becomes a symbol of returning to nature and the universal need for refuge—for both people and animals. This artistic intervention highlights the precariousness, simplicity, and beauty of an improvised shelter made from natural materials at zero cost, offering a new perspective on the concept of home.
