The exhibition "Nomadic Photographic Project"

Have you ever wondered what kind of relationship lies between urban spaces and their inhabitants? Citizens and heritage sites? Between present and past?

The Nomadic Photographic Project has arisen from a journey among 6 European cities between April 2022 and February 2023: Marseille, Barcelona, Brussels, Sofia, Athens and Timisoara. In each location, the photographer, Lucy Winkelmann, has captured these relationships and put them in the forefront, thus enabling us to notice the importance of each city's cultural heritage messages that, consciously or unconsciously, often go unseen. These messages carry information about the cities' history, their tragic and heroic events, which to this day still resonate in our contemporary reality.

The exhibition consists of 24 panels of photographs that will be displayed from 27 March to 27 April 2023 on the fence of the Botanical Park in Timisoara, on the side of Calea Alexandru Ioan Cuza.

The exhibition is organised within the framework of the "Beit Project: Nomadic School of European Memory", whose local coordinator is the Intercultural Institute Timișoara.

This project is part of the national cultural programme ”Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in the year 2023" and is funded by the City of Timișoara, through the Center for Projects.
