Relationships.Reactions.Reflections

The Relationships.Reactions.Reflections is a project which develops two components.

On one hand, the Classical Theatre Ioan Slavici Arad, in partnership with the German State Theatre Timișoara and the Hungarian Theatre Csiky Gergely Timișoara, aims to present a performance that addresses topics of interest to teenagers and which is to be presented to the young people of Timișoara, in familiar settings (classrooms / school halls). It is an adaptation of Sinziana Keonig's text, boyz and girlz, a story about misguided young people trying to find their way in the chaotic world in which they live. There will be 20 performances in 10 high schools in Timișoara, followed by debates between high school students, the artistic team and special guests, about relationships between teenagers, the relationships they have with their parents or teachers, the way young people try to find their place in society.

On the other hand, the initiative brings to the attention of high school students, their families and teachers, the performance of the Theatre from Arad, Școala și familia (The School and the Family), after I.L Caragiale, directed by Cristian Ban, with two performances that will take place at the German State Theatre in Timișoara. The show explores themes such as school, education and family, topics that are part of the contemporary concerns. The performances will also be followed by debate sessions between the audience and the artistic team.

Starting from an artistic approach, we propose a non-formal educational and social project, aiming to bring young people into a relationship with themselves, with contemporary society, but also with theatre, and to help them understand themselves and develop new skills.

The project is part of the national cultural programme "Timișoara – European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is funded through the Grow Timișoara 2023 programme, implemented by the Center for Projects Timișoara, with funds allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
