Enrique Arriaga - The Phonosynthesis Cycle

A cycling process in which the interaction between plants, humans, structures, sonic systems, and other beings convert infrasound vibration into energy that is continuously being transformed into new sounds.

With the use of amplification, recordings and modular synthesis, the vibrations on the structure produced by the visitors of Pepiniera are captured and simultaneously processed to create a feedback loop, which is reprocessed again in a cycle of 2 hours during a gradient transition from sunlight to darkness.

In a displacement gesture that resembles the act of transplanting vegetation from other parts of the city, Enrique Arriaga is presenting a collection of recordings from the city soundscape, sharing part of his auditory experience in Timisoara, to create an artificial sonic environment in this vertical garden.

This event is organized in partnership with OAR / Timiș Branch

Schedule

Friday, 26/05, between 8 - 10 p.m., at Pepiniera 1306 plants, Victory Square.
