B.A.U. (Brigada Artistică Urbană) is an open collective that creates improvised dance music. Formed around a group of friends from Timișoara, B.A.U. has been playing together since 1995: Uțu Pascu (bass, samplers, effects), Vlad Trif (keys), Alin Mărgărit (guitar, keys), Tavi Scurtu (drums), together with MC Tina, one of the best voices of the Romanian drum & bass scene. The spontaneity and coherence of the improvised discourse, driven by the interaction with the audience, remain unmatched. Over the years, B.A.U., has had countless collaborations with artists such as Toni Kuhn, Dan Griober, UFO, DJ Dudu, Roli Breaker, DJ Dubase, DJ Sleek, DJ Vasile, Electric Brother, Seba 1394, Dan Mitrofan, MC Agent, Ati de Chile, MC Bean, Norzeatic, Injektah, Pacha Man, Turntable Science, Eddie Neumann, Sascha Bota, Claudiu Buna, Lucian Nagy, Bucharest Jazz Orchestra, O.S.G.C. and many others. An adventurous, organic and original combination of funk, soul, hip hop, dub, jungle/drum&bass, breakbeat, broken beat, 2-step influences define the B.A.U. style, which is put at the service of finding the perfect groove of the moment.
