"Casa Orient"

Ștefania Palace (Timișoara, Piața Romanilor, no. 1)
October 26-28, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
"Casa Orient" is a multidisciplinary artistic project that blends photography, poetry, and storytelling to explore themes such as migration, cultural identity, and the concept of "home." Inspired by the personal experiences of artist Kareem Jamal's parents—his father who migrated to Romania and his mother who lived in Yemen—the project captures life between two worlds.
Through images and poetic texts, the audience is invited to reflect on the impact of migration on identity and tradition, as well as on the redefinition of the notion of "home." "Casa Orient" evokes an intimate encounter between the Middle East and Eastern Europe, showcasing cultural symbols and personal moments from everyday life.
