POD | Program of Observation and Discovery

We are pleased to present POD - Observation and Discovery Program, a new project by the Foc și Pară Association, through the Indecis artist-run space, in partnership with Rudolf Walther Elementary School and Elementary Schools No. 1 and No. 4 in Timișoara.

POD arises from the need to redefine physical space and is designed as a mobile extension of it, dedicated to education, promoting it as a flexible activity both indoors and outdoors. One of our objectives is to directly involve students in creative processes and in shaping spaces dedicated to education.

From March to June 2024, POD will provide students from partner schools with access to education through interdisciplinary events, where contemporary art harmoniously blends with natural sciences. Our mentors, Suzana Dan, Loredana Ilie, Ioana Balint, and Gavril Pop, will be alongside participants in multidisciplinary workshops, guided tours through the historical neighborhoods of the city, and collective exhibitions. These activities will take place both at the Indecis artist-run space, Bastion 3, in partner schools or in public spaces in the neighborhoods of Timișoara.

A distinctive aspect of the project is the creation of a Mobile Museum, a sculptural object similar to a cabinet of curiosities, which will contain auxiliary materials developed during the activities, as well as other resources for creativity and art, intended for future workshops.

We aim to develop a sustainable model for the future, which will provide support for both teachers and students, and in the long term, we hope to contribute to the transformation of the non-formal and cultural educational landscape of the city.

More details about the events coming soon.
