The Moving Fireplaces Festival 2023 includes a series of diverse events, such as theater performances, documentary film screenings, art exhibitions and artist talks, which take place in Timișoara and other towns in the historical Banat, from September 1 to 29 October 2023.

The main projects that make up the festival were selected through the Call for Projects and Artistic Interventions for the Moving Homes Festival 2023 and carried out as part of artistic residencies, by 10 artists / teams of artists from Ukraine, Serbia and Romania.

At the base of all events is the collection of stories about migration, war, displacement, revolution and memory, collected by a multidisciplinary team, within the research phase of the project Moving Fireplaces in 2022, in Romania, Serbia, Hungary and Ukraine. By reinterpreting stories and transforming them into expressions of contemporary art, artists become, in turn, storytellers, active participants in enriching the community's memory.
