"The Central Library of the Politehnica University is the library of the Politehnica University of Timișoara. From 1948 to 2014 it functioned in the Piarist High School complex.
As it was located in the centre of Timișoara, but further away from some faculties, the library had specialized branches at the faculties of Chemistry, Electro, Mechanics and Construction. Following the restitution of the Piarist complex to the Catholic Church, a new building was built for the library on bd. Vasile Pârvan no. 2b, near the mentioned faculties, so the branches were merged there. The last 100 books were symbolically moved to the new premises on 27 October 2014 by a human chain of 1000 students."
