The West University of Timișoara (WUT) is the main higher education institution and research center in the West of Romania. Classified by the Ministry of Education as a university of education and scientific research, WUT is one of the five members of the "Universitaria" consortium (a group of elite Romanian universities). Also, the West University of Timișoara is a member of the National Research-Development- Innovation System in its capacity as an accredited higher education institution. The University includes 11 faculties, as well as a teacher training department. The faculties operating within WUT are offering nationally accredited study programs at bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels in the following fields: Arts and Design; Chemistry, Biology, Geography; Law; Economics and Business Administration; Physical education and Sport; Physics; Letters, History and Theology; Mathematics and Computer Science; Music and Theatre; Sociology and Psychology; Political Science, Philosophy and Communication Sciences.
